Symphony at Sea launches Worlds of Sound with a sweeping musical voyage across oceans and eras. From the regal grandeur of Handel’s Water Music and the cinematic adventure of The Sea Hawk to the unforgettable romance of Titanic, this program captures the sea in all its power and mystery. The journey culminates in Debussy’s La Mer, alongside our 2026 Youth Artists Solo Competition winner, cellist Brandon Gajek, performing the fiery first movement of Kabalevsky’s Cello Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 49.

Sing along to the chart-topping hits of iconic artists including Pat Benatar, Tina Turner, Blondie, Cyndi Lauper, Joan Jett, The Bangles, Bonnie Tyler, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, Cher, Patty Smyth, and more, along with select favorites from the era's biggest male recording artists.

Dynamic vocalist Vivian Elliott serves as your energetic musical guide, leading audiences on a nostalgic journey through the sights and sounds of the 1980s with powerhouse vocals, colorful costumes, engaging showmanship, and one hit after another.

Celebrate two decades of musical excellence with the Five Lakes Silver Band at their spectacular 20th Anniversary Concert featuring an evening of brass band favorites, three world premieres, special guests, and a celebration of the musicians who have helped shape the ensemble over the past 20 years.

Led by Music Director, Christopher Ward, the program will showcase the extraordinary versatility of the British-style brass band tradition, with music ranging from powerful marches and classic brass band repertoire to contemporary works. The concert will feature three world premieres: Le Nain Rouge, a new march by Simon Morton; Celestial Odyssey by Andrew Wainwright, his unique interpretation of Gustav Holst’s The Planets; and a new finale by internationally acclaimed composer Paul Lovatt-Cooper.

The band will also perform significant works including Ray Farr’s Intrada on “Ein Feste Burg”, Ludovic Neurohr’s Remonitze, Espen Westbye’s Hypergrid, and many more. With music spanning a wide range of styles and moods, there will be something for everyone.

The celebration will continue as Five Lakes alumni join the current ensemble for several massed-band works, bringing together musicians from throughout the band’s 20-year history. Neil Barlow, former conductor of the Five Lakes Silver Band will also return to lead a special selection during the concert.

The Five Lakes Silver Band is a 501(c)(3) performing arts organization composed of world-class musicians, including professional performers, music educators, and highly accomplished amateur artists from across Southeast Michigan. In 2026, the ensemble earned one of the highest honors available to a brass band in North America, winning First Place at the North American Brass Band Association (NABBA) Championships and the title of North American Champion. In July, the band represented the United States at the World Music Contest (WMC) in Kerkrade, Netherlands, widely regarded as the “Olympics of the Wind Music World.”

Follow a group of cousins as they navigate everyday challenges, make difficult choices, and discover the importance of love, faith, family, and second chances. Through it all, their grandmother’s prayers and unwavering guidance remind them that hope, healing, and love can change lives.

This family-friendly concert will feature a combination of brass band favorites and music that will get you into the Halloween “spirit.” In addition to fun music, audience and band members alike come in costumes. Join MCBB the day after Halloween, to conclude your Halloween celebrations.

Forces of Nature invites you into a world of energy, elegance, and imagination. Beethoven’s Creatures of Prometheus Overture, Op. 43 ignites the stage with heroic brilliance, followed by the playful charm of Carnival of the Animals, a delightful portrait of the animal kingdom for audiences of all ages. The evening soars to a triumphant close with Symphony No. 41 in C major, K. 551, Mozart’s majestic “Jupiter,” a masterpiece of classical grandeur.

Four Seasons explores the cycles of time through music both timeless and familiar. Experience the vivid imagery and virtuosity of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, one of the most beloved works in the classical repertoire. From the fresh optimism of Copland’s Appalachian Spring to the high- energy nostalgia of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons with a Jersey Boys medley, this program bridges centuries with melodies that celebrate renewal, rhythm, and the spirit of every season.

Interstellar Incredibles blasts off into the thrilling worlds of film and imagination. From the wonder of Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind to the heart-tugging charm of Up and the heroic energy of The Incredibles, this concert celebrates the unforgettable music that brings epic stories to life. Featuring iconic themes from Interstellar, The Lion King, Moana, and more, it’s a cinematic adventure designed to thrill audiences of every generation.

Holst’s The Planets brings the cosmos to life in a breathtaking multimedia experience. As we perform The Planets live, stunning high-definition imagery from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center will surround the audience, transforming the concert hall into a journey through our solar system.
